I know I say it about a lot of crystals, but honestly, Moss Agate is my favourite! There's something about the greens, blues, quartz and chalcedony swirling around each other that connects directly to my heart chakra and roots me deeply to the earth beneath my feet.
What is Moss Agate?
Moss Agate is made of silicon dioxide. It's actually a form of chalcedony. and not technically an agate, as it doesn't form in concentric circles like other agates. But like other members of the agate family, the base or 'maxtrix' of Moss Agate is a clear or milky white quartz, and Moss often has beautiful sugary quartz inclusion.
What are the healing properties of Moss Agate?
Moss Agate connects us to Mother Earth, the Earth Goddess Gaia - and reminds us that we are part of a beautiful thriving ecosystem and a part of nature. Moss Agate is a gentle grounding stone that pulls us back to nature. It is a stone of abundance, fresh starts, rebirths and new beginnings. Moss Agate is a wonderful stone for pregnancy as it aids mothers on their journey into motherhood.
